The New Challenges of School Governance: Rethinking Strategic Planning
(Note: This has been titled “Meeting The New Challenges of School Governance”)
Six years after the financial meltdown, independent schools are still in uncharted waters. The “value proposition” remains challenging: tuition and budgets are still under pressure, but expectations keep rising, parents are more consumerist, and many students are more challenging to teach. All of this calls not for traditional standard strategic planning, but for being truly strategic. Rob Evans will explain the difference and show how the new realities reinforce old truths in school governance—truths that are simple (though not always easy) and that can position schools for a stronger future.
The program is offered as a full-day or a half-day workshop and as a keynote. Both workshop formats include a mixture of presentation, large group Q & A, discussions in pairs and small groups. The full-day permits more sharing, discussion, and role-playing and practicing. Rob always likes to tailor programs to meet the specific needs and interests of a school or a district and is glad to discuss this.
